Max is an easy going sweetie pie of a boy. Max was an owner turn in at the shelter- the same shelter he had been adopted from three years ago when he was a puppy. His owners couldn't afford to keep him any longer after they lost their home and moved to an apartment that didn't allow pets. Poor Max is so confused as to why he is no longer with his family.  Max is a well tempered and gentle boy with a good disposition. He will make an exceptional family dog. He came from a home with cats and he did very well with his first Westside Feline test. Max's previous owner took him to obedience class and it shows! He walks well on the leash, is easy to handle and tunes into you quickly.  Max is very is friendly to people and other dogs. He is the kind of dog that will bond and blend in nicely with his new home. His previous owners say he is housebroken. He rides really well in the car. When our volunteer rescued him, he went right where she told him to go and he stayed there the entire ride with his head resting in the door pocket.   He rode to a giant adoption event and went right to his place in the back floorboard and waited until he was told he could get out. At the giant adoption event, he met numerous dogs, adults and children in a loud and chaotic environment without issue. He had many people handle him and they all commented on what a nice dog he was.  We often get requests for dogs that have the many qualities that Max naturally possesses. Max may not have the look of his classic shepherd buddies, but his heart, soul and intelligence are traditional of the breed. When someone read Max’s info card from the shelter, they exclamined,"He is too good to be true!" Come meet Max and see what a great all around dog he is!
